The US MQ-9 Reaper drone was unable to evade the Russian Pantsir-S1 air defense system

A video shows an advanced MQ-9 Reaper drone, estimated at millions of dollars, shot down by Russia's Pantsir-S1 air defense system.

The incident occurred in the Benghazi area, from the video published on various social media, it was confirmed that the MQ-9 Reaper Drone was completely destroyed.

To date, the Libyan National Army Forces (LNA) are armed with at least four Pantsir-S1 air defense systems transferred to the UAE.

LNA official Major General Khaled via a Facebook account said that, the LNA air defense system detected unidentified drones entering the benghazi sky near Al-Rajma and Benina bases. The MQ-9 Reaper drone was eventually shot down using the Russian Pantsir-S1.

It was previously thought it was a drone like China's CH-5 or Ch-4 similar to the Predator.  However, if you look at the shape and design, it is indeed very similar to the MQ-9 Reaper.

Sources Avia.pro said that, the MQ-9 Reaper Drone was detected by Russia's Pantsir-S1 air defense system and easily shot down.
