Russian SU-25 fighter jet crashed in the Rostov region, pilot died

Hsmilitarycom: One Su-25 attack jet crashed during a training flight in the Rostov region, as a result of which the pilot died. This information was reported to reporters on Tuesday in the press service of the Southern Military District.

"On June 21, a Su-25 aircraft crashed in the Rostov region during a planned training flight. The pilot died," the district said.

As described in the Southern Military District, the flight was carried out without ammunition, the SU-25 fighter jet fell in a deserted place, there was no damage on the ground. They also reported that the downing of the SU-25 fighter jet was due to a technical malfunction.

"According to preliminary information, a technical malfunction could have been the cause of the incident. A commission from the Russian Aerospace Forces is working on the premises," the district said.

The Su-25 fighter jet is designed to directly support ground units day and night, as well as to destroy objects with certain coordinates at all times in any weather conditions.

The standard weapons of the SU-25 fighter jet are the GSH-30-2 rifle, adjustable bombs KAB-500 and KAB-1500, suspended cannon mounts UAK-23-250 and SPPU-1, unguided aircraft missiles of various calibers, the Vikhr complex and other guided missiles of air-to-air and air-to-surface classes.
