Turkey's interest in buying U.S. F-35 fighter jets was debated so long after Turkey bought russian S-400s, so the U.S. decided to expel Turkey from the F-35 fighter jet program.

Turkey called the move unfair and demanded reimbursement for the $1.4 billion payment. Lockheed Martin Corp. makes the F-35 and F-16.
