Turkey offers Bayraktar TB3 for Japanese Izumo-class aircraft carrier
HSMilitarycom: After the success of the Bayraktar TB2 in Ukraine, the Turkish company is now offering the latest version of the Bayraktar TB3 drone to Japan.
The Turkish UAV manufacturer offered the Japanese navy to equip its Izumo-class carrier with a new version of the Bayraktar TB3 drone.
As stated in the official appeal, China refuses to supply UAVs to a number of neighboring countries, due to which Japan is interested in the Bayraktar TB3 product offered by the Turkish company.
Bayraktar TB3 is perfect for Izumo-class mini carriers, has folding wings, and can increase the number of other drones.
The Bayraktar TB3 is in production for the Turkish Navy's UDC TCG Anadolu, which is expected to enter service this year. In total, Anadolu will be able to accommodate 50 to 110 TB3 units, depending on the UDC air wing configuration.
Japan decided to convert two Izumo-type helicopter carriers into "mini carriers" in order to deploy F-35B carrier-based fighters on them. As a result, the two ships are expected to carry 28 aircraft each.
