Dmitry Kuleba: Ukraine has only SU-27 and MiG-29 fighter jets

HSMilitarycom: Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba, addressing the EU leadership, noted that his country needs combat fighters that Ukrainian pilots can fly. 

Deutsche Welle in this regard recalls that the Ukrainian forces are armed with two models of fighters: the Soviet-made Su-27 and MiG-29.

Also on Sunday, Josep Borrell, on behalf of the European bloc, expressed fears that a Russian invasion of Ukraine could also affect neighboring countries, including Georgia, Moldova and the Western Balkans.

 "We are afraid of what could happen in the entire region," the diplomat added.

On February 27, after a meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the EU countries, new sanctions were announced against Russia after its attack on Ukrainian territory. 

Thus, according to the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, the European Union will finance the purchase and supply of weapons and other technical means to Ukraine that has been attacked. 

Von der Leyen noted that this is the first time the EU has taken such a step, calling it a "turning point".

Bloomberg reported on Sunday that the EU may impose sanctions on several more Russian oligarchs, businessmen and officials close to Putin. 

According to Bloomberg, the names of Alisher Usmanov, Mikhail Fridman, Alexei Mordashov, Dmitry Peskov and Sergei Roldugin are being discussed.
