Russian fighter jets tighten security of military base in latakia from Israel

According to data obtained by the Avia.pro news agency, on the night of February 9, 2022, extremely high activity of Russian combat aircraft was observed over the eastern Mediterranean Sea and in the area of the Russian Navy base in Syrian Tartus.

Similar Israeli air activity was observed over Lebanon and over the northern part of Israel.

This may indicate that the IDF decided to make another attempt to strike at Syria and the Russian military in Latakia, however, Russian fighters did not allow this.

Information about the activity of Russian fighters was provided by a columnist for the Syrian edition of the Syrian Arab Army News, noting that this happened shortly before midnight.

The IDF attack on Syria may well be true, as none of the Israeli fighter air strikes were successful, as all eight missiles were intercepted by Syrian air defenses.

After that, the shelling of the Israeli fighters themselves began, as the Avia.pro news agency has already reported.

Among other things, the probability of a new Israeli attack on Syria increased the night before, as evidenced by the flight of an Israeli electronic intelligence aircraft.

According to a Syrian military observer, the risk of an IDF attack within the next 48 hours is very high.
