Russian SU-35 flies very close to US Boeing P-8A

Hsmilitarycom: An attempt by an American military anti-submarine aircraft to approach Russian military bases in Syria ended for the crew of the Boeing P-8A Poseidon with an extremely harsh interception by a Russian military pilot.

U.S. and Russian warplanes flew dangerously close to each other in three separate incidents over the weekend over the Mediterranean Sea, including one where the planes passed within 5 feet (1.5 meters - ed.), said on Wednesday, representatives of the Pentagon.

The incidents, which occurred in international airspace on Friday and Saturday, were linked to Russian Su-35 fighter jets entering the flight path of a US Navy P-8A reconnaissance aircraft, officials said.

The Avia.pro news agency was able to establish that the American Boeing P-8A Poseidon military aircraft was indeed near the borders of Syria on February 12.

At the same time, the flight path of the American patrol aircraft was rather strange.

This may indeed indicate the fact that he was subjected to a hard interception by the Russian Aerospace Forces.
