Russia sends SU-35S to Belarus. Does it have anything to do with Ukraine?
HSMilitarycom: Russia's Su-35S multirole fighters have completed their relocation to Belarus, where the reaction forces of the Union State will be tested during the Allied Resolve 2022 exercise, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Thursday, January 27.
“The crews of the Su-35S multi-role fighters of the Eastern Military District, involved in checking the response forces of the Union State, continue to relocate to Belarusian airfields. During the flight, the crews make intermediate landings at the airfields of the Central and Western military districts to prepare for the next flight and rest the crews, ”the Russian military department said.
Flight routes for Russian fighters were carefully worked out by aviation navigators, taking into account the maximum non-stop flight and weather conditions along the entire route.
After arriving at the airfields of Belarus, the crews of the fighters will take up combat duty for air defense as part of checking the functioning of the unified air defense system of the Union State, the Ministry of Defense added.
The first Su-35S multirole fighter of the Russian Aerospace Forces arrived in Belarus on January 26 to participate in the test of the reaction forces of the Union State .
The test of the reaction forces of the Union State will take place in two stages.
At the first stage, until February 9, the location will be changed and groupings of troops in Belarus will be created as soon as possible.
The security and defense of important military and government facilities and the protection of the state border in the airspace will also be organized.
They will also check the ability of the air defense forces and means on duty to fulfill the tasks of covering important objects on the territory of the republic.
From February 10 to February 20, the second stage of verification will take place.
