Hsmilitarycom: Russian air defense systems shot down a military transport aircraft of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Odessa, which was delivering weapons and ammunition. This was announced on Saturday by the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Major General Igor Konashenkov.
"The Russian air defense system in the Odessa region shot down a Military Transport aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force, which was delivering weapons and ammunition," he said.
He also detailed that during the day 17 marshless aircraft were destroyed in the area of the settlements Popasnaya, Varvarovka, Stakhanov of the People's Republic of Luhansk, Dementievka, Volokhov Yar, Mospanovo, Novaya Gnilitsa, Doslidnoye, Bolshiye Prokhody, Kapitolovka of the Kharkiv region, Novoaleksandrovka of the Nikolaev region.
In the Kamenka area of the Nikolaev region, Russian air defense systems shot down two Turkish-made Bayraktar TB-2 drones.
The Bayraktar TB-2 is a medium-altitude strike unmanned aircraft (UAV) with a long flight duration from the Turkish company Baykar Makina.
Its maximum speed reaches 222 km / h, the device can last in the air for up to 24 hours, and the practical ceiling of the UAV is 8.2 thousand meters.
The armament of the UAV consists of two laser-guided UMTAS anti-tank missiles with a range of 0.5 to 8 km, or four Bozok, MAM-C or MAM-L guided precision bombs from the Turkish company Roketsan, capable of hitting stationary and moving objects at a distance of up to 8 kilometers.
