Joe Biden: Hypersonic missiles on Russian MiG-31K fighter jets are almost unstoppable

Hsmilitarycom: U.S. President Joe Biden commented on the first combat use of a Russian Kinzhal hypersonic missile mounted on a MiG-31K fighter jet, noting its immunity.

Earlier, a top Pentagon spokesman said that U.S. authorities did not understand the meaning of the Russian air force's use of hypersonic weapons in Ukraine. According to him, from the military side, the use of such weapons is impractical.

"It has the same warhead as other missiles. There's not much difference, except it's almost impossible to stop," Biden said.

A few days ago, the Russian air force published a video of the destruction of the target by a MiG-31K fighter jet mounted with a hypersonic missile.

Germany has called the Russian Armed Forces' use of Kinzhal hypersonic missiles a warning to NATO. The missile can fly at a speed ten times the speed of sound and is almost immune to Western air defense systems.

The use of the Kinzhal hypersonic missile system in Ukraine demonstrates the missile's prowess.  A large well-defended military fuel base in Ukraine was destroyed by a Kinzhal hypersonic missile attack.

The U.S. is testing hypersonic weapons, several launches are failing, and there are no such missiles in U.S. service.

The Defense Ministry noted earlier that Russia would continue to use "Daggers" during operations in Ukraine.
