Ukrainian Defense Minister Olesii Reznikov also told reporters that the facility where the drones will be built will also include a training center for Ukrainian pilots.

Ukraine first acquired TB2 drones from Turkey in 2019. In September, Ukraine announced plans to purchase 24 more Turkish drones in the future.

In October, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said his country would build a factory for manufacturing Turkish drones.

"The plot of land on which the factory will be built has been selected," he told a news conference, according to Al Jazeera.

Reznikov said the locally made TB2 will be dubbed the Turkish-Ukrainian Bayraktar. It will have a Ukrainian engine, likely made by Motor Sich Ukraine.
