Russian military completely blocked Kherson and Berdyansk

HSMilitarycom: Over the past day, the Russian military blocked Kherson and Berdyansk, Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov told reporters. 

In addition, Genichevsk and Cherobaevka airport were taken under control. 

At the same time, the Russian armed forces do not strike at cities and take all measures to save the lives of civilians, the representative of the Ministry of Defense emphasized. 

At the same time, he noted, Ukrainian nationalists from the Azov battalion fired from Grad rocket systems at houses in the village of Sartana in the suburbs of Mariupol and a Mariupol school.  

"As a result, there is destruction of residential buildings and there are dead among the civilian population," Konashenkov said, recalling that the Defense Ministry warned that nationalists were preparing such provocations. 

The troops of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics , with the support of the Russian armed forces, recaptured new settlements, Konashenkov added. 

So, in the LPR, the militias took control of Novoakhtyrka, Smolyaninovo, Stanichnoye-Luganskoye, the depth of their advance from the beginning of the operation was 52 kilometers. 

In the Kharkiv region , the 302nd anti-aircraft missile regiment of Ukrainian troops, equipped with Buk M-1 systems, voluntarily laid down its arms, a representative of the Ministry of Defense said. According to him, 471 servicemen were detained. 

In total, the Russian army destroyed 975 objects of the military infrastructure of Ukraine , Konashenkov specified.

These are 23 command posts and communication centers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine , three radar posts, 31 S-300, Buk M-1 and Osa anti-aircraft missile systems, 48 ​​radar stations. 

The Russian military shot down eight combat aircraft and seven helicopters, 11 drones and two Tochka-U tactical missiles.

223 tanks and other armored vehicles, 28 aircraft, 39 multiple rocket launchers, 86 field artillery pieces and mortars, 143 military vehicles were destroyed on the ground. 

On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decrees recognizing the sovereignty of the Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics, and on February 24 announced the start of a special operation in the Donbass. 

He assured that Moscow 's plans do not include the occupation of Ukraine , only its demilitarization and denazification. The head of state called the goal of the operation the protection of the residents of the DPR and LPR, who have been subjected to genocide for eight years. 

He also called on the Ukrainian military not to follow criminal orders, lay down their arms and go home. According to Putin, all responsibility for the bloodshed will be on the conscience of the Kiev regime.
