Russia will end the military operation in Ukraine! Peace will be realized?

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said his country is interested in ending the conflict in Ukraine as soon as possible. But Lavrov also stressed that any diplomatic solution must include recognition of Moscow's annexation of four Ukrainian regions.

Lavrov made the remarks at a joint news conference with Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira in Brasilia.

Lavrov also thanked Vieira for his excellent understanding of the situation in Ukraine, and expressed Russia's gratitude for Brazil's desire to contribute to finding a solution.

While expressing Russia's interest in ending the war and conflict in Ukraine, Lavrov reiterated Moscow's stance that any diplomatic solution must recognize the reality of Russia's annexation of four regions Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia  to say.

Ukraine has repeatedly insisted that peace will only be achieved if Russia cedes occupied territories, returns Ukraine's borders and Kiev retakes Crimea, annexed by the Kremlin in 2014.

"True peace means restoring Ukraine's internationally recognized borders. True peace means a safe homeland for the people targeted in Ukraine's Crimea," Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said in a statement last week.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin reportedly visited two Kremlin-annexed regions of Ukraine in person to meet Moscow's security forces fighting there.
