Russia's latest version of the T-90M 'Breakthrough' tank will fight in Ukraine

Hsmilitarycom: Reportedly, Russia has already received the latest batch of the main battle tank T 90M. This T-90M tank was produced by the Uralvagonzavod company already ordered some time ago, previously Russian Military Operations in Ukraine.

Russian sources said the Russian Defense Ministry had planned the acquisition of about 600 units of T 90M. It is known that most tanks will still be developed by modernizing the old T-90 that is already in service.

This T-90M tank first entered service in the Russian Army in April 2020. This happened after testing was completed two months earlier with more advanced features.

This T-90 tank can maintain a much better situational consciousness. Primarily, this is influenced by the network's centric warfare capabilities.

It also includes a variety of modern thermal scenes. Its new main gun made it possible to deploy more new types of shells.

The T-90M tank is protected by explosive reactive armor Relikt. This armor is a shield from tandem warheads. Significantly, this can reduce the penetration of the spin of the fin-wastering sabot stabilized by the armor.

This latest version of the T-90M tank also has precautions that trigger the release of smoke grenades. This can happen if the tank is subjected to laser beams, thereby reducing the likelihood of being exposed to semi-automatic guided antitank weapons.

On the offensive side, the T-90M tank has an improved firing system, Through the panoramic thermal sight, the tank commander can identify the target, the gun is locked and the shooter completes the aiming and firing procedures, while the commander searches for other targets.

The gun itself has a longer range and is up to 20 percent more accurate than the previous version of the tank. This T-90M tank can also fire 125 mm ammunition or antitank missiles with a range of up to five kilometers.

But what is even more interesting is that this T-90M tank can also attack low-flying helicopters. The T-90M has a 7.62 mm machine gun and a remote-controlled 12.7 mm heavy machine gun. Both are operated under protection.
