US has just successfully conducted hypersonic missile tests, Russia is already using the latest hypersonic missiles

Hsmilitarycom: After several failed hypersonic missile tests, the new raytheon technologies corp. company successfully conducted a test of an American hypersonic missile.

While Russia has started using its latest version of hypersonic missiles, America has just successfully tested the hypersonic missile. In this regard, the United States is considered very far behind compared to Russia.

The third trial was successfully conducted in 2013. In total, four trials of air-reactive hypersonic weapons were carried out. Raytheon products succeeded twice, while Lockheed Martin had one successful trial and one Failed, according to official figures.

Raytheon said in a statement that during the test flight, after being launched from an aircraft, it accelerated to hypersonic speeds using jet engines.

Hypersonic weapons move through the upper atmosphere at a speed of more than five times the speed of sound, or about 6,200 km (3,853 miles) per hour.

The hypersonic weapons program is administered by the Pentagon Defense Advanced Research Project Agency, or DARPA. Raytheon and Lockheed Martin Corp. compete for production contracts from the government.

Currently, hypersonic weapons that have been successfully tested are owned by Russia and China. So, at the end of May, the frigate "Admiral Gorshkov" from the waters of the Barents Sea fired hypersonic missiles "Zircon" at targets in the White Sea.

In March, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the test of the Zircon hypersonic cruise missile from the aircraft carrier could be completed in June or July of this year, after the final launch as part of the test.

In February, Izvestia sources at the Ministry of Defense reported that, the first regular aircraft carrier of the Zircon hypersonic system was admiral Golovko's Project 22350 frigate, which will replenish the Northern Fleet in December.

The Zircon is the world's first hypersonic cruise missile capable of continuous aerodynamic flight by maneuvering in dense layers of the atmosphere using its own engine thrust along the route.
