Russian Msta-S self-propelled howitzer, the most feared weapon of the Ukrainian military

One of the types of Russian armament that Ukrainian troops fear most when facing Russian troops is the Msta-S self-propelled howitzer.

This laser-guided weapon is able to precisely destroy enemy targets from a maximum distance of 30 kilometers.

The Msta-S self-propelled howitzer was developed in the 1980s and participated in several conflicts, mostly regional to the Russian Federation, such as the Second Chechen War, the War on the Donbas, the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict of 2020, and the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Not only that, the Msta-S self-propelled howitzer is able to fire up to 10 rounds per minute with a maximum range of up to 28 kilometers.

The Msta-S was armed with a 152mm 2A65 cannon, the note of which was the main gun of the howitzer drawn from the same Msta-B series. This weapon, even in the retracted version of the howitzer, can fire laser-guided artillery projectiles.

The deployment of the Msta-S self-propelled howitzer in Ukraine, made the Ukrainian army think twice about attacking, and even set up a proper strategy to avoid the attack of the Russian Msta-S.
