Russia destroys American HIMARS rocket launcher system with high-precision missiles

Hsmilitarycom: The Ministry of Defense of Russia reported that the Russian Armed Forces with high-precision missiles destroyed two American dual rocket launch systems (MLRS) "HIMARS" in Malotaranovka, Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).

"In the residential area of Malotaranovka in the People's Republic of Donetsk, high-precision air-launched missiles destroyed two US-made HIMARS multiple rocket launchers and two ammunition depots for them," the report said.

The Russian Defense Ministry added that the Russian military also destroyed a radar station for guidance of the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system near the village of Shirokolanovka in the Nikolaev region and a temporary deployment point for foreign mercenary units near the village of Limany.

In addition, he said, a Russian Su-35 fighter jet shot down a Ukrainian Su-25 attack aircraft and two Mi-24 helicopters in an air battle in the Nikolaev region.

"During one air battle in the residential areas of Nikolaevka and Snegirevka in the Nikolaev region, Russian Su-35 fighters shot down two Mi-24 helicopters and one Ukrainian Air Force Su-25 aircraft," he said.

According to Konashenkov, another Ukrainian helicopter, the Mi-8, was shot down by a Russian air defense system. This is also the case in the Nikolaev region.

Russian air defenses also shot down 11 Ukrainian drones and intercepted nine Tochka-U missiles.

On June 1, US President Joe Biden announced the delivery of the HIMARS dual-launch rocket system to Ukraine. The Pentagon clarified that we are talking about five MLRS.

Three weeks later, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov announced that HIMARS had arrived in Ukraine. Later, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny said that HIMARS was already used in Donbass.

In early July, the United States announced a new aid package to Ukraine, which includes a shell for this MLRS.

A day of the destruction of the US HIMARS, the Headquarters of Interdepartmental Coordination of the Russian Federation reported that, the fighters of the Ukrainian formation were preparing provocations using toxic substances at the Slavyanskaya TPP.
