Nato allied military supplies are running out, after being shipped to Ukraine

Hsmilitarycom: Some U.S. and NATO allies are running out of the number of weapons and security assistance they can provide to Ukraine amid russia's special military operations.

It was revealed by the U.S. Ambassador to NATO, Julianne Smith, in a virtual panel discussion with the think tank Center for a New American Security.

"Some states have really given everything they have," Smith said.

According to him, the United States and NATO receive a list of changes in requests for security assistance from Ukraine almost every day. Most recently, President Volodymyr Zelensky asked the West for additional assistance in the form of heavy weapons.

Smith said the process felt challenging and difficult. Some countries made a reassessment of what else they could give Kiev, having provided a large amount of equipment in recent weeks and months.

Nearly 50 countries, including NATO allies, participated in the third Ukraine Defense Contacts Group meeting yesterday in Brussels, Belgium.

The meeting aimed to assess what additional security assistance they could provide to Ukraine in the short and long term.

Sources said Washington announced it would provide a new $1 billion security assistance package to Ukraine that would include MLRS-guided rocket ammunition, 18 additional Howitzers, 36,000 rounds of artillery ammunition and two additional Harpoon anti-ship missile systems.
