However, given that all Ukrainian airfields have been decommissioned by the Russian armed forces there has been no official information regarding the deployment of Slovak MiG-29 fighter jets to be sent to Ukraine.

Earlier, a video circulated on the telegram channel showed Ukrainian pilots moving a number of fighter jets as the Russian military attacked Ukrainian airports and Russian pilots managed to fly some of their fighter jets.

The delivery of a number of Soviet-made MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine is considered a step towards acquiring U.S.-made F-16 fighter jets, as is Poland. The NATO country wants to replace Soviet-made fighter jets with U.S. F-16 fighter jets.

Slovakia and Poland will continue to assist the Ukrainian military in terms of military equipment and impose sanctions on Russia for invading Ukraine.

Regarding the delivery of 12 MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine, there has been no official information. However, it is certain that Slovakia will send several units of Soviet-made fighter jets to the Ukrainian air force.

Ukraine's military will continue to get military assistance from NATO allies, although the Russian defense ministry has warned it will destroy all military equipment to be delivered to Ukraine.

The decision to send MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine has long been planned, although Slovakia lost a number of Soviet-made MiG-29 fighter jets.
