Russian fighter jets destroy Ukrainian air force MiG-29 fighter jets

Hsmilitarycom: Russian fighter jets shot down a Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter jet near Kramatorsk. This was announced by the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry Igor Konashenkov.

According to the statement, Russian tactical and military flights hit two command posts, three ammunition depots, 80 concentration areas of labor and military equipment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as well as a Buk-M1 anti-aircraft missile system near the village of Pilipchatino in the Dpr.

Konashenkov also said that in total, more than 210 nationalists were killed in air strikes, and 31 units of military equipment were disabled. 

"Also, Russian warplanes shot down a Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter jet in the Kramatorsk region of the Donetsk People's Republic," a representative of the Russian military department said in a statement.

On February 17, the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics announced a worsening situation. The Republic announced the evacuation of civilians.

On February 21, the leaders of the Republic of Donbass asked Russian leader Vladimir Putin to recognize the independence of the DNR and LNR. The head of state held a meeting of the Security Council, after which he signed two decrees on the recognition of the republic. 

Friendship and cooperation agreements were also signed with the independent Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics. The State Duma and the Federation Council ratified this treaty.

On February 23, the leaders of the House of Representatives and LPR appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request to help repel Ukrainian aggression to prevent humanitarian disasters and civilian casualties.

On February 24, the Russian leader addressed the nation and announced the start of special operations in Ukraine to protect Donbass.
