Russia takes full control of Lyman town, ukrainian army withdraws from city

Hsmilitarycom: The Russian military confirmed that it had captured the strategic town of Lyman in eastern Ukraine. The city is on the road to the two main cities that are still under the control of the Ukrainian government.

Following the joint action of the militia units of the Donetsk People's Republic and the Russian armed forces, the town of Krasny Liman has been completely liberated from the Ukrainian nationalists.

The city of Lyman is located on the road leading to Sloviansk and Kramatorsk, the capital of the Ukrainian-controlled part of the territory.

Having ceased to take control of Ukraine's capital Kiev and the second-largest city of Kharkiv, Russian President Vladimir Putin is now seeking victory in eastern Ukraine, which is predominantly Russian-speaking and claimed by Moscow to be the target of the Ukrainian genocide.

Russian forces are now heavily bombarding cities in eastern Ukraine with the aim of "liberating" an industrial hub called Donbas.

Ukraine says the fighting in Donbas is now the largest on European soil since the Second World War. However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky vowed that his troops would fight for every inch of our land.

The transfer of troops to the eastern region known as donbas has the potential to make the battle between the two countries so protracted.

"I am afraid that Putin, at great cost to himself and the Russian military, continues to attack the Donbas," British Prime Minister Boris Johnson told Bloomberg.
