Russia destroys US M777 howitzer using self-propelled, Hyacinth-S
Hsmilitarycom: The U.S.-delivered M777 Howitzer gun to Ukraine was destroyed by Russian armed forces using a self-propelled Hyacinth-S.
Three Russian self-propelled weapons "Hyacinth-S" destroyed a Ukrainian unit of the American-produced M777 155-millimeter howitzer. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry.
Russian soldiers clarified that the firing range of the Hyacinth-S was about 28.5 kilometers. After the gunfire, the weapons changed their location.
A day earlier, kp.ru the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Major General Igor Konashenkov, said that Russian fighter jets had destroyed more than 210 Ukrainian nationalists and crippled 38 Armed Forces equipment.
Remember that the 152.4 caliber Giacint-S weapon began mass production in 1978. The authors of the gun manufacture are Georgy Efremov and Yuri Kalachnikov. They created the Hyacinth-S during the reign of Nikita Khrushchev, during an arms race, when the US already had the SAU-M107.
