Sources in Finland reported that the Finnish Defense Ministry intends to deploy 64 US-made F-35 fighter jets at an air base in the city of Rovaniemi.

The town of Rovaniemi lies just 150 kilometers from the Russian border, and therefore it is estimated that the decision will pose a serious threat to Russia.

Against the background of Finland's preparations to join NATO, the deployment of a large group of F-35 fighter jets on the Russian border is definitely a step towards confrontation.

At the same time, experts draw attention to the fact that due to the deployment of a large number of F-35 fighter jets in Finland, this will inevitably pose a serious danger to the ships of the Northern Fleet of the Russian Navy.

Earlier, Russia called Finland's move to join NATO provocative and threatening. At the same time, the Russian side is ready to provide a serious response to Finland and NATO, including by involving military technical means.

At the same time, it is known that Finland has sent almost all its troops to the border with Russia, including self-propelled artillery, tanks, light armored vehicles, etc.

Such a decision is considered dangerous for the country, given Russia's ongoing Ukraine conflict and Russia will take a firm stance if it touches its country.
