The U.S. has fired 33 F-22 Raptor fighter jets. Is it because of lack of money?

The decision left the U.S. Air Force with only 153 F-22 Raptor fighter jets. Dozens of F-22 Raptor fighter jets to be retired are from the production of the Block 20 variant.

"With the decision to retire 33 F-22 Raptors, the number of aircraft will remain at just 153 compared to Lockheed Martin's original total of 186 aircraft," Defence Security Asia said in a statement.

The F-22 Raptor Block 20 fighter jet to be discontinued, according to U.S. air force officials, currently only operates as a training aircraft for the U.S. air force.

Of the various reasons for the retirement of the F-22 Raptor fighter jet, this is considered because of economic factors (money) rumored to be the US short of money for the overall operational costs of the F-22 Raptor fighter jet.

Hundreds of billions of U.S. dollars must be spent on operationalizing F-22 Raptor fighter jets. This led the U.S. to retire 33 F-22 Raptor fighter jets.

"One of the main reasons why the U.S. Air Force decided to discontinue service of 33 F-22 Raptors is because the superpower cannot afford its high operating costs to the billions of dollars."

Another reason is also said that the U.S. is said to be planning to save its country's budget spending to renew the F-22 Raptor fighter jets that are still in operation.
