Turkey plans to buy 40 Block 70 F-16 Fighter Jets and 80 Block 70 upgrade kits from the US. If the U.S. approves the supply, Turkey will be able to have 120 4+ generation fighter jets.

Otherwise, Turkey will seek fighter jet suppliers from other countries, which may include France, Britain and Russia.

Turkey was excluded from the F-35 fighter jet program because it bought Russia's S-400 air defense system.Turkey considers the U.S. decision to remove Turkey from the F-35 program and impose sanctions on Turkey as unfair.

Regarding Turkey's plan to buy a number of U.S. F-15 fighter jets, there has been no official decision from Washington.

Turkey says if the F-15 fighter jet negotiations fail and far like the F-35, it decides to buy a number of Russian-made SU-57 fighter jets.

In addition, Turkey can strengthen cooperation with the Russian Federation in the field of military aviation and other fields. So, at the end of last year, the head of Turkey's defense industry department, Ismail Demir, said that his country relied on cooperation with Russia in the production of its own TF-X fighter aircraft.
